Xteink X4 Pro · 24-bit BMP
Xteink X4 Pro wallpaper size480 × 800 px
The Xteink X4 Pro sleep screen is a 24-bit BMP at 480×800 pixels, the same size as the X4. CrossPoint supports the X4 Pro from version 1.6, which also added transparent sleep screens. Pre-dither your picture to 4 grays here so the preview is what the screen shows.

No picture that fits?
Don't see your model? Take a screenshot on your reader to find its pixel size (on Kindle, tap opposite corners simultaneously), then choose Custom.
Keeps just the person, pet or object on plain paper. Runs on your device; the first use is a one-time 59 MB download.
Lower strength keeps soft edges like hair and fur. Keep background fades the old background in instead of erasing it.
Fine-tune
CrossPoint / CrossInk: copy sleep.bmp to the root of the SD card (or several BMPs into a folder named .sleep), then Settings → Display → Sleep Screen → Custom.
Stock firmware: copy the BMP to any folder on the card. On the reader, Open Folder → pick the image → tap the preview → Set as Power-off Screen.

How it works
1Use the exact size
480×800 pixels, portrait. Anything else gets scaled, padded with bars, or cropped by the device.
2Tune for e-ink
The X4 Pro keeps the X4's 480×800 resolution, so X4 wallpapers fit it without borders. But the display controller varies by batch, and on some units CrossPoint can only draw black and white. If grays look washed out or vanish on yours, pick the Ink look: pure black and white dithering that looks the same on every batch.
3Install
24-bit BMP: on CrossPoint 1.6+, sleep.bmp in the SD card root or several in /.sleep; on stock, set it from the image viewer. Step-by-step instructions are under the download button.

CrossPoint 1.6 or newer
X4 Pro support arrived in CrossPoint 1.6 (September 2026). Put sleep.bmp in the SD card root, or several BMPs in a .sleep folder for a random one each time, then set Settings → Display → Sleep Screen to Custom. On 1.6 you can also choose Transparent and use a cut-out PNG overlay instead.
The front light doesn't change the file
The front light lights the panel evenly; it doesn't add gray levels. Make the image for 4 grays, and judge contrast with the light off, which is how the sleep screen usually sits on a desk.
Bold beats busy
At 480×800 with 4 grays, silhouettes, line art and high-contrast portraits hold up best. Remove the background and keep the subject on white for the cleanest result.

Common questions
›My X4 Pro shows only black and white
Some X4 Pro batches use a display controller that CrossPoint drives in black and white. Choose the Ink look so the dithering is made for two levels instead of being flattened on the device.
›Can I use my X4 wallpapers on the X4 Pro?
Yes. Both are 480×800 portrait, so the same sleep.bmp fits with no borders.
›The sleep screen didn't change
On CrossPoint, the file must be named sleep.bmp in the SD card root (or sit in .sleep), and Sleep Screen must be set to Custom. Older CrossPoint builds don't support the X4 Pro at all; update to 1.6 or newer. On stock firmware, open the image from the file browser and set it as the power-off screen instead; menu names vary between versions.
›There's no Transparent option
Transparent sleep screens need CrossPoint 1.6 or newer (or CrossInk). Stock firmware doesn't have them.
