Boox Palma wallpaper size824 × 1648 px

The Boox Palma wallpaper size is 824×1648 pixels, a 1:2 portrait shape that is twice as tall as it is wide. The Palma 3, Palma 2, Palma 2 Pro and P6 Pro all use it. Crop your picture to that shape here, so you choose what stays instead of the Palma.

Lower strength keeps soft edges like hair and fur. Keep background fades the old background in instead of erasing it.

How it works

    Use the exact size

824×1648 pixels, portrait. Anything else gets scaled, padded with bars, or cropped by the device.

Phone photos and most wallpapers are 3:4 or 9:16. On the Palma's 1:2 screen a 3:4 picture loses about a third of its width. Drag the preview to keep the face or the subject in frame, or pick a tall picture to begin with: full-length portraits, towers, trees and Japanese scroll paintings fit naturally.

Palma 2 Pro: color, but pale

The Palma 2 Pro's Kaleido 3 screen shows color at a lower resolution and with much paler tones than a phone. Pick the Palma 2 Pro in the tool to keep colors, and push saturation and contrast further than looks right on your phone.

Setting it

Copy the PNG to the Palma (USB, BooxDrop or any cloud app), then pick it in the screensaver settings. Boox lets you set separate images for sleep and power-off. Menu names move between firmware versions, so search Settings for "screensaver" if you can't find it.

Common questions

›My Palma wallpaper is stretched or has bars

It isn't 824×1648. Phone wallpapers are usually 1080×1920 or similar (9:16), which is wider than the Palma's 1:2. Re-make it at 824×1648 here.

›Is the Palma 2 wallpaper size different from the Palma 3?

No. The Palma 3, Palma 2, Palma 2 Pro and P6 Pro all use 824×1648.

›It looks muddy in grayscale

Phone photos rely on color contrast that disappears in 16 grays. Raise contrast in the grayscale preview until the subject separates from the background.
